Crochet Diamond Motif Pattern

Today I will share my Diamond Motif pattern!
I made this cushion and pillow with it and am still playing with it.
The cushion is made with Velvet Color Crafter  by Scheepjes and the blanket with Merino Soft.
The pattern is very versatile and I am very curious what you guys are going to make with it!

US terms.

ch3, close ring with sl st in first ch.
Round 1: ch2 (=1dc), dc, trc, ch1, trc, dc2, ch 1, dc2, trc, ch, trc, dc2, ch1, close with sl st in second ch.
Round 2: ch2 (=1dc), dc in next 2, (2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 3, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 3,(2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 3, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, close with sl st in second ch.
Round 3: ch2 (=1dc), dc in next 5,  (2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 7, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 7,(2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 7, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dcin next, close with sl st in second ch.
Round 4: ch2 (=1dc), dc in next 8,  (2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 11, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 11,(2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 11, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 2 , close with sl st in second ch.
Round 5:  ch2 (=1dc), dc in next 11,  (2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 15, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 15,(2dc, trc, ch1, trc, 2dc) in ch-1 space. dc in next 15, (dc, ch1, dc) in ch-1 space, dc in next 3 , close with sl st in second ch.
Round 6 : etc....

Make the diamond as big as you want. the sides will decrease with 4 each time. 

To make a blanket you need half diamonds also.


chain 3, close ring with sl st in first ch.
Round 1: ch 4, trc, dc2, ch1, dc2, trc, ch4, close with sl st in ring, fasten off
Round 2: fasten on, ch4, (trc, dc2, )in ch-4 space, dc in next 3, (dc,ch1,dc)in ch-1 space, dc in next 3, (dc2, trc) in ch-4 space, ch4, close with sl st , fasten off.
Round 3:  fasten on, ch4, (trc, dc2, )in ch-4 space, dc in next 7, (dc,ch1,dc)in ch-1 space, dc in next 7, (dc2, trc) in ch-4 space, ch4, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 4 :  fasten on, ch4, (trc, dc2, )in ch-4 space, dc in next 11, (dc,ch1,dc)in ch-1 space, dc in next 11, (dc2, trc) in ch-4 space, ch4, close with sl, fasten off.
Round 5 :  fasten on, ch4, (trc, dc2, )in ch-4 space, dc in next 15, (dc,ch1,dc)in ch-1 space, dc in next 15, (dc2, trc) in ch-4 space, ch4, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 6 : etc...
chain 3, close ring with sl st in first ch.
Round 1: ch3, dc2, trc, ch1, trc, dc2, ch3, sl st in ring, fasten off.
Round 2: fasten on ch3, dc in ch-3 space, dc in next 3, (dc 2, trc, ch1, trc, dc2) in ch-1 space, dc in next 3, dc in ch-3 space, ch3, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 3: fasten on ch3, dc in ch-3 space, dc in next 7, (dc 2, trc, ch1, trc, dc2) in ch-1 space, dc in next 7, dc in ch-3 space, ch3, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 4: fasten on ch3, dc in ch-3 space, dc in next 11, (dc 2, trc, ch1, trc, dc2) in ch-1 space, dc in next 11, dc in ch-3 space, ch3, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 5: fasten on ch3, dc in ch-3 space, dc in next 15, (dc 2, trc, ch1, trc, dc2) in ch-1 space, dc in next 15, dc in ch-3 space, ch3, close with sl st, fasten off.
Round 6 : etc....

So now grab your favorite yarn and start experimenting with it! Like this:

With very chunky yarn like Silvi.
 Or with Stonewashed.
Colorcrafter works great also, and here I crocheted in between the stitches.

Soft Fun Aquarel gives a very nice effect.

  4. I love this pattern and hunted it down after seeing it on @rawrustic 's instagram. I've only been crocheting for a little over a year so I don't yet have any concept of how much yarn different types of projects might take. I know this is probably a tough question but, do you have a rough guesstimate at how much yarn you used for the pillow and blanket respectively? Thank you so much for your help!
